“A must for all golfers, teaching professionals and golf coaches at all levels.” (Golf Today Magazine)

Updated Jan, 2012

Are you tired of your unreliable golf swing and the frustration that comes from hitting the ground before the ball, missing the ball entirely, or topping it?

You’re not alone. The reason most people have troubles hitting the ball clean and square every time is that they don’t stay level and in balance at impact.

Why do we need to stay level at impact?

For most of us, impact is a complete blur. We swing as hard as we can then quickly regret it. You can’t blame us though — golf courses are long these days, and we’re all very concerned about where our expensive little white ball is going to end up! Watch any great golfer in slow motion through impact and you’ll see how stable, level and in control they are. Most average golfers are the opposite — jumping up, dipping down, falling forward, or losing balance all together. Are you tired of hearing “you looked up” or “keep your head down” or “stay down in your swing” or “you peaked” ?

You need to develop balance and control at impact.

Big things do come in small packages.

For the rest of us, there’s the SwingNumber N1. Golf Today Magazine called it “… a must for all golfers, teaching professionals and golf coaches at all levels.” and that “big things do come in small packages.”

Place the SwingNumber N1 near your ball and swing naturally. When your club strikes the ball, a random number flashes for a split second. At first you will not be able to see the number flashed at impact — your body is probably not stable at impact and your head is likely moving too much, or you’re already worried about where your ball is going and you’ve come out of your shot. It will take many swings and some concentration on your part, but in a short period of time you’ll start to see the random number and your body will naturally begin to stabilize, your head will start to quiet, and you will begin to “stay down” during impact.

Your ability to hit the ball clean, straight, and far will improve immediately.

SwingNumber N1 develops enhanced awareness of your swing at impact. Your body naturally begins to fall into perfect position; your eyes, head, and body all “covering” the ball for maximum power and accuracy.

It works for chipping, pitch shots, and the full swing.

Put an end to the Age-Old Cliché

Once upon a time you might have been told to “keep your head down”. The danger with that advice is it can easily lead to a restricted follow-through and an awkward swing. The trick is to have your eyes, head, shoulders and body focused towards the ball at the moment of impact, in perfect balance, and then letting yourself move naturally into your follow-through position immediately after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I get a deal if I buy several for my friends or to sell at my golf shop?
A. Yes, we also sell boxes of 32 pieces and can provide a point of purchase display on request. Please let us know if you’re interested by using the “Contact Us” page.

Q. How does it work?
A. SwingNumber N1 is a keep-it-simple golf swing training aid with a microphone and a display. You set it down near the ball and swing naturally. When your club strikes the ball, the microphone detects the sound and a random number flashes for less than a second. At first you won’t see the number, or if you do, you won’t be able to make it out. As you practice with it, your eyes and entire body will be focused over the ball at impact, and your swing will transform as a result. By staying down and keeping your head quiet through impact, your balance and shot control will improve dramatically.

Q. Explain again why “Keep Your Head Down” can lead to problems?
A. It’s just too easy to get “stuck”. People are often too good at following advice, and take “keeping their heads down” to the extreme. They end up trying to force their head down against the natural momentum of the swing. With SwingNumber N1, first learn to focus your body on impact. Once you’re focused on impact, learn to let the club naturally fly through the impact zone, and then let the club’s momentum pull your body around and finally your head up and out of the shot. No sudden movements, no restrictions.

Q. I’m tired of hearing “you looked up” or “keep your head down” from my playing partners. Can SwingNumber N1 Help?
A. We believe the most important thing is that your eyes witness the club striking the ball. Doing so improves consistency. This is what SwingNumber can help you with. The golf swing must be fluid, and your head must be allowed to move, especially during the follow through. You need a tool that teaches you to stay down only during the moment of impact while releasing your body into follow-through. SwingNumber N1 is that tool.

Q. How does a flashing number help keep my eyes on the ball?
A. Place the device about 6 inches in front of you and the ball you are about to hit. (Make sure you won’t accidentally hit it during your swing). Try hitting a ball. Did you notice that a number flashed on the display? If not, you probably weren’t looking at the ball during impact. SwingNumber N1 has two modes of operation: It will flash once for full swings, or 3 times for the short game.

Q. Will it work with the driver and irons?
A. Yes! Hybrids, fairway woods, and wedges also work great.

Q. Why does it flash for such a short time?
A. So that we don’t cheat ourselves. In designing the product, we found that if the flash was too long, our peripheral vision would be able to distinguish the number during the finish of our swing, even if we didn’t actually see the ball at impact.

Q. Why not simply a flashing point of light instead?
A. We found that it was too easy to see a point of light in our peripheral vision, thereby cheating the exercise. Try reading a word of this text while looking even a few inches away. You pretty much have to be looking right at it to read the number.

Q. Why does it flash a random number?
A. If we knew what number was coming, our minds might trick ourselves into believing we actually saw something we didn’t. It also becomes very useful in a coaching situation, since a bystander can easily read the number and can test the swinger’s recollection.

Q. What’s the difference between the short game and full swing modes?
A. The full swing in golf has a lot of momentum such that after impact, the club pulls us up and around into our finishing positions. It’s only possible to read a single flash at the moment of impact. For short game shots which do not have the same momentum, we generally keep our bodies relatively still, and we want to keep down as long as possible. Many people tend to look up and get out of their shots too soon. SwingNumber N1 flashes 3 distinct times forcing us to be patient before looking up to see where the ball went.

Q. Do all excellent golfers “see impact”?
A. The exceptions who don’t still have their bodies in perfect position at impact, which is what using SwingNumber N1 will train you to accomplish.

Q. Can I see the number in the sunlight?
A. Bright direct sunlight makes it hard to see. We designed SwingNumber N1 with a dark red cover which filters the light effectively in the sun, but we recommend using it at a driving range where there is some shade.

Q. How long do the batteries last?
A. SwingNumber N1 is very efficient and will last several thousand flashes on its included batteries. It’s best to turn it off when not in use.

Q. Is it portable?
A. Extremely! It can even be attached to a key ring.
